Returning to Birds Resort after the morning’s round of golf, we’d not long left a torrential downpour and commented how lucky we were not to have been caught playing in it when we came across this magnificent large tortoise in the road.

After pulling up a bit further down the road we walked back to alert other road users and ponder whether to help it across or leave it to its own devices.  We preferred the latter and a few vehicles later, each passing with a toot of the horn and a friendly wave, the tortoise safely completed its journey to the other side.

We just have to hope that each journey is as safely made.
