Temperature

Climate in Asia is a bit different to Europe and it takes time to get used to (if you ever get used to it?!) and I have to say, I am struggling.

Every day the temperature is between 20-30 C, however, the humidity remains around 80% if it is sunny or rainy (frequent showers and down pour are common). Your clothes stick to you wherever you go and once you leave the air con places, you notice the difference and your body starts to sweat making your skin sticky and warm.

The sun is pretty intense, with high UV, even if cloudy. Factor 50 sun cream is needed, even for a short period of time when waiting for kids at the school gate or if we walk somewhere. I have to say, actually we try to avoid the sun as much as we can, especially between 11.00-15.00.

In the apartment, we can get the temperature down to 26 C with air con, without it, the room is between 30 – 35C.

We use the air con during the day, at night we use it to start with when we go to bed and then put the ceiling fan to circulate the air. We are sleeping in the two middle rooms which are the coolest. I just checked on kids, they are asleep, rooms are 27 C – air con on for them!

There is one plus side to this climate, I have not once said, I am cold and my feet are nice and warm!
