Whilst in Wilpattu National Park and in complete tranquillity apart from beautiful omnipresent birdsong, we happened across a peafowl courtship ritual from beginning to end.  Absolutely magnificent – and that was just the stagecraft of the female playing disinterested in the first and second images and the submissive end of the male’s display as caught in the final one!
