Painted Easter eggs
Sunday 12.4 2020
Easter wouldn’t have been Easter hadn’t the hollow eggs been painted – Czech tradition.
I have been blowing and washing eggs for two weeks now, so that we can paint it with Emilka and put it on display or hang it. Czech grandmother sent us special paints and stickers, but they are probably sitting somewhere in the main post office with millions of other letters because Sri Lanka has been in total military lock down since 15th March and the postal service put on hold.
As our pre-Easter tradition, we painted the eggs one evening (we have only one brush and about 5 acrylic paints) and I managed to put them each on a ribbon to be able to hang up. On Sunday morning we went downstairs to the lobby and decorated the large bamboo sticks in a large vase next to the elevators for everyone to enjoy. It looks quite nice. In simplicity is the beauty, would say my Dad.
