Sri Lanka was celebrating Mother’s day on the American date and our kids were camping for their Duke Of Edinburgh expedition in a rain forest. I thought the best way to spend morning was with our friend Rajeev who is on his own too and have a delicious brunch in one of my favourite coffee shops; The Department of Coffee.  Steve was in the UK and I was alone. 

When I arrived and saw him standing there with a bouquet of flowers, I felt loved and appreciated, so sweet of him. We had a nice gentle conversation, a tasty and healthy brunch, smooth cappuccinos and 2 hours were gone in a flash.

When I got home, I enjoyed arranging the flowers in a make shift vase (from a five litre plastic water bottle), which lasted a week. Perfect decoration to a corner in our sitting room.  Every time I looked at the flowers I had a smile on my face. Who does not like flowers?
