Misa’s Name Day

Tuesday 29th September 2020

Last year, shortly after we moved to Sri Lanka, Misa had a name day which I completely forgot about. I only remembered in October, but he took it ok. I kept an eye on Emilka’s name day in November and bought her a box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates, of which she still has a few balls in the fridge today; apparently she is saving it.

Misa was looking forward to that Ferrero Rosher box this year – unfortunately, it wasn’t in a shop this time, so I bought him Lindt’s chocolate balls. I also bought him a shower gel and deodorant, maybe it will make him wash. “I don’t sweat, and the shower is enough for me every other day!” he says.  Typical teenage boy!

I picked them up by taxi following an afternoon meeting about the Duke of Edinburgh award that they joined, and took them to one of my favorite cafes; the “London House of Coffee”, where they had not yet been.  Unfortunately, Steve was in the office and could not join.

Emilka had hot chocolate and a blueberry muffin, Misa a sandwich, an apple pie and a melon juice. He was so hungry. The 6 buns with cheese and box of fruits and vegetables that I gave him for lunch and a snack was not enough. He is a growing boy.  At home for dinner, I made his favourite pasta with Bolognese.  I think he had a nice celebration and I hope I made up for for last year!
