As it was Bank holiday in Sri Lanka and our kids had the day off from school AGAIN, our dear friend Mala planned an outing for us three knowing that Daddy Steve was in the UK on business.

She collected us at 11am and we drove along the coastal road just over an hour from Colombo, to a tranquil place in Wadduwa called Reef Villa for lunch and a dip in the pool. 

Only 2 rooms occupied from 7, and only 2 people by the pool. We had the alfresco dinning room to ourselves, enjoying freshly cooked delicious dishes, especially the tiger prawns. As it was so hot and humid, a dip in the cool pool was welcome.  The kids having an ice cream by the pool was a bonus.

On our way home we stopped at a supermarket to do some shopping (we could get toilet paper, hurrah!) arriving seven hours after departure, re-energised and nicely relaxed.
