Hurulu Safari
28th December, 2022
En route from Trincomalee to Dambulla we learned that our planned elephant safari was off the cards due to flooding. The advice was instead to stop at Hurulu – which we did, and were very grateful for.
The first safari for friends David, George and Anna really delivered. The park was empty and we encountered plenty of elephant up close, enjoying the majesty of these enormous mammals in their natural habitat and perfect weather conditions. At one point we had a family walk between our two jeeps as you will see from the photographs of opposing view. Unusually for such parks, there was an area where we could dismount – which we did to walk up a steep hill to the viewing station on top and take in the sights of the jungle to the sounds of the jungle. Lovely
