Hotel Kamzik Wellness

Sunday 21st July – Tuesday 2nd August 2022

We were planning a girly wellness stay since we arrived in Czech, to relax and to be together. Our family friend Nikolka found a good deal All Inclusive and off we went in two cars, me, Emilka and grandma in one, and Nikolka, son Adam and my cousin Ilonka in the second. Starting with a coffee in Bruntal, we arrived at Hotel Kamzik a little earlier than expected, checked into our room, had a sweet treat and a coffee and went to the wellness – all sorts of saunas, jacuzzi and a swimming pool – to relax and enjoy ourselves.

The timing was right in that we had an early dinner that day and once Nikolka managed to put Adam to sleep with grandma and Emilka babysitting, we girls enjoyed the all inclusive card and got wine to enjoy in the bar until midnight.

The second day was a lazy one with lounging after breakfast and a small walk around the hotel before lunch. Once Adamek had an afternoon nap with grandma (he didn’t feel well since the night before), we girls had a fantastic time in all 3 jacuzzis (2 of them outside) and a few saunas (I liked the bio sauna with herbal smell).  A coffee and a sweet treat followed afterwards on the terrace as the weather was perfect at 21C. Dinner brought a nice selection of options to chose from but this time we didn’t stay up late and went to bed at 22.00.

The check out was very quick after breakfast and we set off to conquer Praded, the highest peak of the Jeseniky mountains.   We planned to do this by driving to Hvezda Near Karlova Studanka to park the car, taking a bus to Ovcarna (as far as is possible to get on wheels), and walk the last 2.2 miles / 3.5km to the top.  Mummy would stay in one of the hotels near the bus drop off.  This wasn’t to be however as the buses weren’t running.  Such a shame, and I was disappointed.

Never mind though as we decided on plan B to visit Karlova Studanka Spa. A beautiful place and with the weather still perfect at 22C, perhaps no surprise that the spa car parks were all full.  Parking on the outskirts would give too much of a walk for Mummy so plan C was quickly made to visit Bruntal castle.

This turned out to be a good call, with learning some history and experiencing castle slippers again.  Infact we reminisced that we had not been to the castle wearing the slippers that protect the floor for decades!

Another sweet treat to wrap up the little holiday whilst reflecting on its pleasures was a must!

We will do it again next year for sure, but we have to take my sister in law Jane with us as well to make it a complete family of girls.  She couldn’t get annual leave this time.
