Motorcycles over 350cc swept displacement are prohibited in Sri Lanka, presumably so that the cops on their 600cc Yamahas always have the upper hand.  On arrival at Birds Resort I was therefore surprised to see a collection comprised of four Harleys.

On being granted permission to try them each for size and joking that I’d take them for a ride I learned that although comprising a collection of the resort owner, none of them are road-registered – and sure enough, they are not.

Never mind; although not my type of motorcycles it was still good to swing a leg over and remind myself that in a few week’s time when back in the UK on a business trip, hopefully I will get a day to ride the pair of mine.
