Even though we have plenty of bread in the freezer, there is nothing nicer than freshly home baked produce. We all love the smell of a cake or bread out of the oven and enjoy eating it. They say smell brings you memories, so sometimes we feel we are in my mummy’s kitchen in Czech or with Steve’s mummy in England.

Rennie is absolutely right.  Today’s bread rolls were fabulous, and when she brought one out to the balcony for me, fresh from the oven and with butter oozing in to it, with an intake of breath and one bite I said “Mmmmm.  That lovely taste takes me straight back to Mum’s home baked bread in Princes Risborough in 1976!”.  I could even remember a specific occasion, sat at the dining table where I ate it for the first time.  It is amazing how taste and smell can be placed so clearly.
