Babysitting

Saturday 5th October 2019

Today for the first time in Sri Lanka I was babysitting children of the Czech couple (11 years old  Nella and nearly 7 years old Max), so they could fully concentrate on customers as they had tasting day in their lovely boutique coffee shop.

Kids were dropped just after 11 am, leek and potato soup done already by then, apple strudels were just coming out of the oven and with Misa’s help we quickly baked the easiest chocolate cake ever with lemon icing.
Children were playing really well, chess to start with, Xbox about an hour, after lunch we went swimming and had fun on inflatable Unicorn and Flamingo about an hour, the weather was just right 27C, water was little cooler. Strudel and half of the cake was gone in no time, of course swimming makes you hungry.

About 4pm we all squeezed into our favorite vehicle Tuk Tuk and we took the kids to their parents, who were tired, but very happy after a successful day.

My friend has sent me message in the evening after putting Max to bed, he apparently really liked being with us and said: “She is as nice as my grandma!” I take it as a compliment, grandmas are usually nice!

Misa has admitted, that his friends, who have seen me already in passing, said I look very scary and they don’t want to come for a play date! Their loss.

And where is Steve? He was all day sitting in the plane on the way to Boston, the longest flight ever for him for 13 hours, and we were following him on internet on flightradar24.com.
