Impromptu lunch
Thursday 12th November 2020
No, not the chickens! 🙂
I received a phone call from my friend at 10am saying: “Rennie, as you had your negative PCR test yesterday, I was wondering if you wish to bring Emi for an impromptu lunch so we can catch up after so many weeks?”
I haven’t seen my friend Jo properly since June (my birthday) and of course I accepted. Emilka packed her laptop to finish online lessons after lunch, I wrapped the cinnamon swirls I was making to bake in her house and off we went.
It was the fastest 3 hours I have ever had. We had so much to talk about the time went like the speed of light. The girls were playing with my friend’s daughter’s pet chickens (the best thing ever, especially in lockdown where she has no other children to play with) and we had a lovely time away from our apartment.
I like impromptu invitations as they are usually the best.
