A cheeky breakfast treat
Thursday 9th October 2020
“Before we go shopping for our friends in isolation, I will take you out. Put a dress on.” This was a WhatsApp message from my friend Jo.
“I hope you didn’t have any breakfast!” was then her welcome sentence to me this morning.
She took me to a tranquil place, Uga Residencies; walking distance from our apartment. It is one of her go to posh places, peaceful and stylish, you would not know that you are in the middle of a city with construction all around you.
“It is my treat. We have to do things like this, especially when we do not know how long we can do such things for – Just in case we go into another lockdown as Covid-19 cases are rising in Sri Lanka all of a sudden.” she said. No-one can argue with that. Delicious coffee and one of the tastiest breakfasts I had had in a very long time. Meaningful conversation in such beautiful surrounding; a really wonderful surprise I will treasure.
I feel lucky and privileged I can enjoy such occasions. I left the kids at home on gadgets as it is their half term holiday.
