I’ve written numerous times in these blog posts of the deliciously fresh fruit and vegetables that we are fortunate to enjoy on this island of abundance.  Much of it is grown in the hill country, small holdings and farms nestling on the slopes between tea plantations.

Leaving Nuwara Eliya to head home and still high in the hills, we stopped at the roadside to buy produce for the week ahead.  It was every bit as lovely as it looks in the images and with none of the food miles of supermarket shopping either.  I’ve included other images too to try and give you an idea of the landscape I have described.  Spot the avocado tree, too!
