Sausages and holiday mood
Thursday 16th July 2020
For half a year now, we have kept some sausages which Steve brought from England in January, in the freezer. I thought that dinner with English baked beans and mashed potato – the kids\’ favourite meal – would be a great way to get into a holiday mood, so prepared this precious food last Thursday; the evening before we left on our summer holiday.
Plain mashed potatoes, baked beans and 10 pork and caramelised onion sausages were exactly what we all enjoyed, and plates were empty in no time. The smell of grilled sausages carried across the apartment to the hallway, and when Steve arrived home in the evening (he was downstairs in the business centre again), he knew what kind of goodness awaited him!
Such was the deliciousness that Steve distracted Misa, and whilst he was turned to look, pricked his last remaining sausage and whisked it away on his fork! Unfortunately for Steve it slid off the fork as Misa turned back – seeing it bounce along the table and under the sofa! Never mind! With everyone laughing, Misa dusted it off and wolfed it down.
