It has been an absolute joy to host you and the priceless memories are too many to recount. Whether it was your seamlessly and energetically sliding in to the first week you spent with us, your independent Grand Tour of the island over the two weeks that followed, or the week we’ve just spent together in India’s Rajasthan, our Indian friends Debarshi and Chandrima summed it up best; “Your parents are great sports”.

The drive home from Colombo airport was largely in silence and our apartment far too quiet this evening.

QR655 is currently just past Muscat and as you land shortly in Doha we hope you get a final piece of warmth before arriving back in the UK; we’re still on the email list for Misa’s UK school and just received an alert that light snow is falling and to be prepared for some disruption if it gets any heavier.  The concept of winter seems so far away.
