I am sure you have heard of a baby shower; an American style party for a pregnant mum in waiting.  I was helping to organise one for a lady who I met shortly after arriving in Colombo – actually the wife of a headteacher of the Senior School our kids go to.  She is expecting her fourth child any day.

I am not very arty, but the tree of life has come out ok, the eggy babies in the pram too and the apple cake was tasty as well. We were about 15 women in one of our friend’s beautiful house.  Surprisingly, the mum in question lasted nearly until midnight.

A nice evening full of food and fun!
