As documented already in these pages, our hairdresser throughout our time in Sri Lanka has been Asanka.  We found him by chance on visting 7th Avenue Salon on 17th August 2019 and were so impressed with his skills and approach that we followed him soon afterwards when he moved to Leena Hari Salon on the other side of the city relative to our home.

A quiet and sincere family man, he is blessed with an incredible talent that he has honed to perfection.  The four of us have completely different hair and like completely different styles, yet he has cared for us each with equal aplomb. Everyone that we have recommended to him has come away equally impressed.

When we went for our final cut before returning to the UK he insisted that we didn’t pay; this would be his gift to us for our longstanding custom.  What a lovely gesture from a lovely man.  Rennie and I have since booked a further appointment with him in December for when we return to Colombo for a friend’s wedding.  Our turn to surprise him with a gift this time.
