3rd to 5th March, 2023

We have written many times in this blog of the tight bonds of friendship that we are fortunate to enjoy, and this weekend was a demonstration of them.  With my birthday the prior weekend as the catalyst, Rennie booked the coach that we’ve used a number of times previously to head down to Hikkaduwa to celebrate.  By chance it was to the same hotel where we quarantined on return to Sri Lanka in August 2021 but we saw it in a much better light this time, free to roam around and enjoy the beach, tasty food and warm hospitality of this proudly family-run establishment. 

My brother from another mother Aruna had made all the local arrangements for a jolly good time to be had, and that’s exactly what we enjoyed.  From peaceful breakfasts by the sea to an incredible party complete with our own fireworks display and barbecue on the beach.  A delicious birthday cake, too.

Sixteen people.  Five nationalities.  One purpose – To celebrate and have the huge amount of fun that we did!  Another priceless time.
