Early Christmas Present
Friday 19th August 2022
It is difficult to gift me for birthday or Christmas, as I am not that a materialistic person and being away in Sri Lanka with slow post and expensive import taxes makes it even harder. My Mother-in-law Susan had a very nice idea to have us both attend a 3 hour jewellery-making course in the village hall as my early Christmas gift from her, making a tree of life pendant and earrings to go with it. I loved it.
I had a trip down memory lane to my youth, where I was part of a school craft group for 8 years and loved every minute of it. I would do it again. I enjoy making anything with my hands becasue achieving an end product is so satisfying, especially if someone else appreciates my efforts.
I knew from the beginning that making the tree of life pendant would be a unique piece of work to gift to a dear friend for her belated 50th birthday; she has a heart of gold (hence the red heart in the middle) and with the careful placing of each bead I was thinking of her and the rough time she is having at the moment. I was sure she would like it.
Thank you Mummy Susan for my gift; something unique which I loved receiving and enjoying with you, and passing on the love to a deserving friend who was touched to receive it.
