Scooter ride to Uvalno
Saturday 16th July 2022
With Emilka away on her residential horse riding trip I managed to persuade the boys to do some activity instead of computer and mobile phones.
Misa and myself hired three scooters on Friday afternoon, with ease he taking two of them in one go up the long and steep hill to my mum’s house. We were all set to go on Saturday morning.
Instead of our planned 9.30 departure, we left at 10.20 with a stop to buy factor 50 sun cream for Steve; it was scorching hot and sunny. It took us 70mins to ride/pedal/glide the 4.2 mile / 6.8 km route to Uvalno coffee stop, which at an average 7km an hour is about right.
We enjoyed a drink and a sweet treat before taking a train back to Krnov, saving time as we then had to go and collect Emi.
I loved it and would do it again, Steve enjoyed it too but said it was the most inefficient mode of wheeled transport he has ever seen or used and a bicycle would have been better! He and Misa are spoiled by their love or many horse powers so anything to be powered by human is going to be inefficient of course. I loved the fact we were in nature, doing some activity for our body, only the three of us, no gadgets, no screen, having fun together. To be fair, my two boys enjoyed it too. With separate travel and dates through motorcycling or flying, the one activity we have done so far this holiday just the three of us together with nobody else. I will remember it for the rest of my life!
