Constants

A number of things are constants in my life, one of them being the Honda Hornet 600 motorcycle that I purchased new on 1st August 1998.  24 years later, it has become part of me and central to many happy memories, a pair of which are riding to the Chateau Saint Paterne in France with Rennie in August 2001 and returning on the same machine with Misa pillion in May 2019.

It was however riding from Long Compton in the UK to Rennie’s hometown of Krnov in the Czech Republic with Misa last week that reminded me of how much else has changed in some of those 24 years.  A blog post on the ride will follow shortly, but in the meantime, here’s how Misa has gone from a two year old on a balance bike to a fifteen year old much taller than me and able to support the Honda with ease.

If the motorcycle is quick, the years have passed even more quickly.
