English Good Stuff

Tuesday, 17th May 2022.

We were eighteen days without Daddy Steve, keeping in touch via WhatsApp and experiencing a little of his business trip and time with friends and family in the UK. We also had a plan how to use his 60Kg baggage allowance for his return flights; an online order of English Good Stuff. Precious sausages, ham, cheese, chocolate, biscuits, cereals and some clothes.   We tracked him all the way home, and excitedly on his arrival, Misa carefully removed the handle and opened the box that Steve had packed with millimetric precision to revel all the goodies that will bring pleasure in time to come.  Nothing crushed.  Nothing Broken.  Just lots of yummy things!

Oh – there was also 24Kg of waterbirth pool for a hospital I am helping since the import restrictions mean that they cannot buy one themsleves! As Steve said when we welcomed him home, “I think it is pretty safe to say that I am the first person to carry one of those through Bandaranaike Airport!”. The kids longingly eyed two pristine white iPad boxes removed from Steve’s cabin baggage but unfortunately these are destined for work – also because they are unavailable to buy locally or import.
