What great fortune that my birthday not only fell on a Friday to enable a long weekend but Misa and Emilka had a day’s holiday from school too.  It got even better when Rennie announced that as they had not previously visited, we were going for cooked breakfasts at ‘rare bar & kitchen’ at Uga Residences.  Perfect!

Our friend Pavel surprised me by being there to welcome us (Rennie was in on the surprise) and a delightful time was had even if plentiful calories were consumed in the process.

Afterwards we headed off to Hambantota for a weekend of birthday fun, of which more in the next post.
