Sunday 17th -Tuesday 19th October 2021

The first two nights of our October half term holiday were in an old Portuguese villa in the village Ahangama on the South Coast near Galle, and where we spent quality time with friends we met when living in our first apartment.

They have three lovely children (10, 7, 4) and even though the gap between our kids is big, we had a relaxing time in the pool, in the dining room, playing games and just being together or alone as a family; a much-needed change especially for me as I was looked after.  Our friends stayed in the main villa, and we had a separate villa at the top of the garden, so we could have time on our own when wished-for.

Chilling and eating both days was bliss and flew by so fast. We had our own chef and would order meals which were cooked for us on the premises. We ate a lot!  The cheeky monkeys in the trees were lovely to watch and drinking cold king coconut whilst being in the pool was a highlight for me. I also had a visit from a midwife friend who was a colleague in the UK and lives in Sri Lanka!
