Breaking Waves and Trains

 

The prevailing wind and sea state during yesterday’s afternoon and early evening combined to give even larger breakers than usual, crashing in on the coast and drenching passing trains and their passengers through open windows.

Although spectacular to watch, I remembered the world’s worst railway disaster in terms of fatalities a few miles further down the same track when the Tsunami made landfall on 26th December, 2004.  There’s a Wikipedia page about the tragedy, here (external link).
