Saturday 15th April 2023

Precisely 23 years ago on Saturday 15th April 2000, Steve and I enjoyed our wedding day in Krnov, Czech Republic. The sun was shining , the sky was blue, and after the ceremony and wedding lunch, guests enjoyed basking outside until late in the warmth of the day – and then partying hard all night until breakfast time!

This year we celebrated our anniversary in style at the Shangri-La’s Capital Bar & Grill with a welcome cocktail (although I keep asking how I ordered a bitter Campari Rosso when I really wanted to order a sweet Martini Bianco!) before being called through to enjoy a dinner of Australian steak and a bottle of Tuscan fine wine; each a welcome surprise given import restrictions, even if with a hefty price to match.   The restaurant staff surprised us with a velvety-smooth chocolate cake and whilst we had every intention of bringing at least half of it home for the children, on this occasion they lucked-out.  It was sumptuous!

Congratulations to us.  Twenty-three years of married life is a long time to share together, to achieve things in, and to enjoy what we have shared so far.

Let’s do another 23 years – Steve will be 82 and I will be 73.
